About this website
This website is operated by Herring Cove Veterinary Hospital, a veterinary hospital at 751 Herring Cove Road, Halifax, Nova Scotia. It exists to describe our services, our team and our hours, and to let you contact us or book an appointment.
The site is informational. Using it does not create a veterinary-client-patient relationship between us.
Not veterinary advice
Nothing on this website is veterinary advice for your animal. Descriptions of services, conditions or procedures are general information only. Every animal is different, and only an examination by a veterinarian can tell you what yours needs.
Please do not rely on anything here to decide whether your pet needs to be seen. If you are unsure, call us.
Emergencies
We are open Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. We are not an emergency hospital and we are not staffed outside those hours.
If your animal needs urgent attention when we are closed, contact one of the emergency hospitals listed on our after-hours page directly. Those are independent hospitals: we do not operate them, and listing them is not a referral or a guarantee of their availability. Please confirm their hours and location with them.
Do not use our contact form or email for anything urgent. Messages are read during office hours only.
Appointments and booking
Online booking is provided through a third-party service and is subject to that provider's own terms. A booking made online is a request for an appointment time; we will contact you if we need to change it.
If you cannot keep an appointment, please let us know as early as you can so the time can be offered to another animal.
Fees and payment
We accept cash, debit, Visa and Mastercard. Fees depend on what your animal actually needs, which is not always known before an examination. We will discuss expected costs with you, and payment is due at the time of service unless we have agreed otherwise in writing.
Acceptable use
You agree not to use this site in any way that is unlawful, or that could damage, disable, overburden or impair it, or interfere with anyone else's use of it. You agree not to attempt to gain access to any part of the site, or to any system or data, that is not intentionally made available to you.
You agree not to use the contact form to send unsolicited advertising, or to submit content that is unlawful, defamatory, or infringes anyone's rights.
Intellectual property
The content of this site — including text, photographs, graphics and the Herring Cove Veterinary Hospital name and logo — is owned by us or used with permission, and is protected by Canadian and international copyright and trade-mark law.
You may view, download and print pages from this site for your own information and for the purpose of enquiring about our services. You may not otherwise reproduce, republish or use our content commercially without our written permission.
Material you send us
If you send us a message, photographs or other material, you confirm that you have the right to do so. You keep ownership of what you send. You grant us permission to use it for the purpose of responding to you and providing our services. We handle personal information as described in our privacy statement.

This site links to websites we do not control, including our social media pages. We provide those links for convenience. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy or privacy practices of any linked site, and a link does not imply that we endorse it.
